Lucien Ginsburg dit Serge Gainsbourg (1928 – 1991), in Mon propre rôle, Folio, Editions Denoël, 1987, 1991, pp. 72-73., est un célèbre auteur-compositeur-interprète mais aussi poète, pianiste, artiste peintre, scénariste, metteur en scène, écrivain, acteur et cinéaste français, fils d’immigrants russes juifs. Durant la guerre, la famille Ginsburg est déchue de la nationalité française. Après la libération, Serge Gainsbourg, en échec scolaire, quitte le lycée Condorcet peu avant le bac pour s’inscrire ensuite aux Beaux-Arts… Boris Vian sera pour lui un véritable révélateur lorsqu’il le verra se produire au cabaret Milord l’Arsouille. Embauché par Francis Claude, directeur du cabaret, il interprétera son propre répertoire dont Le Poinçonneur des Lilas…

Lucien Ginsburg, known as Serge Gainsbourg (1928 – 1991), in Mon propre rôle, Folio, Editions Denoël, 1987, 1991, pp. 72-73. a famous singer-songwriter but also a poet, pianist, painter, scriptwriter, director, writer, actor and filmmaker from France, son of Russian Jewish immigrants. During the war, the Ginsburg family lost their French nationality. After the liberation, Serge Gainsbourg, who had failed at school, left the Lycée Condorcet shortly before the bac and then enrolled in the Beaux-Arts… Boris Vian was a real revealer for him when he saw him perform at the Milord l’Arsouille cabaret. Hired by Francis Claude, director of the cabaret, he will perform his own repertoire, including Le Poinçonneur des Lilas…
