La Belle de Cadix est une opérette française créée à Paris le 19 décembre 1945 au Casino Montparnasse avec dans le rôle principal Luis Mariano (paroles de FRancis Lopez).

Mariano Eusebio González y García, dit Luis Mariano, (1914-1970) est chanteur d’opérette (ténor) basque espagnol. En 1945, l’opérette de Francis Lopez  » La Belle de Cadix «  rendra célèbre Luis Mariano. Il jouira – au cours de sa carrière – d’une très grande renommée en Amérique latine, en France, en Espagne et au Québec. Il jouera dans plus de vingt films. Il donnera des récitals dans e monde : États-Unis, Canada, Mexique, Amérique du Sud… Luis Mariano a également reçu au cours de sa carrière de nombreuses décorations dont l’ordre espagnol d’Isabelle la Catholique. Il s’éteint brutalement le 14 juillet 1970 d’une hémorragie cérébrale à l’hôpital à Paris. Plus de cinquante après son décès, a sépulture au cimetière d’Arcangues est toujours fleurie par ses admirateurs.

La Belle de Cadix is a French operetta created in Paris on December 19, 1945 at the Casino Montparnasse with Luis Mariano in the main role (lyrics by FRancis Lopez).

Mariano Eusebio González y García, known as Luis Mariano, (1914-1970) is a Spanish Basque operetta singer (tenor). In 1945, the operetta of Francis Lopez « La Belle de Cadix » will make Luis Mariano famous. He will enjoy – during his career – a great fame in Latin America, in France, in Spain and in Quebec. He played in more than twenty films. He will give recitals in the world: United States, Canada, Mexico, South America… Luis Mariano also received during his career many decorations including the Spanish order of Isabella the Catholic. He died suddenly on July 14, 1970 of a cerebral hemorrhage in the hospital in Paris. More than fifty years after his death, his grave in the cemetery of Arcangues is still decorated with flowers by his admirers.
