Clic, clac, clic, clac clic, clac… On l’entend arriver de loin, de très loin. Ses longues griffes martèlent le parquet à chacun de ses petits pas réguliers, souples et élégants – un vrai p’tit fauve de la savane dans un appartement. Son instinct de chasseur est intact et toujours en éveil : les souris n’ont qu’à bien se tenir ! Elle pourrait passer une nuit entière à jouer avec sa proie, la tenir bien serrée, fièrement, dans sa gueule, la lancer en l’air en secouant sa p’tite tête toute excitée avant de lui filer deux ou trois coups de pattes derrière les oreilles.

D’un coup de tête, elle ouvre rapidement la porte de la chambre tout en essayant de faire passer le reste de son corps qui a pris un peu de volume avec le temps. Que voulez-vous ? Dormir de longs moments sur un lit bien douillet – le bout de son museau tout rose bien enfoui dans les draps encore tièdes de la nuit précédente – , faire la sieste élégamment allongée sur un rayon de soleil de midi venant réchauffer le doux poil d’une magnifique robe tricolore, manger quelques croquettes qui se fracasseront sous ses dents en un « crac crac » très particulier, mais quelle vie active et difficile pour un chat !

Elle plante ses yeux verts dans les tiens en les plissant et te fixe longuement, stoïquement pour te dire : « je t’aime mon humain ! ». Et toi ? Tu fonds, un sentiment de bonheur emplit ton coeur… Puis, tout d’un coup, toujours en te regardant, elle penche sa tête vers le bas et de côté, se baisse, et se jette à terre en te montrant son ventre afin que tu puisses délicatement passer tes mains sur son ventre dodu et si doux, tellement doux. Et c’est le festival : des miaulements, des roulades… Elle exprime son amour, son bonheur, son attachement, sa volonté d’appartenir à ce foyer qui l’a accueillie il y a déjà bien des années. Et pourtant, elle reste un vrai fauve de la savane : indépendante, féline jusqu’au bout des ongles et si belle ; elle ne fait que ce dont elle a envie, comprend tout et donne tout par amours à ses humains.

Click, click, click, click, click… You can hear him coming from far, far away. His long claws hammer the floor with each of his small, regular, supple and elegant steps – a real little savannah beast in an apartment. Her hunting instinct is intact and always on the alert: the mice have to be careful! She could spend a whole night playing with its prey, holding it tightly, proudly, in her mouth, throwing it up in the air while shaking her excited little head before giving it a couple of paws behind the ears.

With a blow of head, she quickly opens the door of the room while trying to make pass the rest of her body which took a little volume with time. What do you want? To sleep for long moments on a very soft bed – the end of her pink muzzle well buried in the still warm sheets of the previous night -, to make the nap elegantly lying on a ray of midday sun coming to warm the soft hair of it splendid coat, to eat some croquettes which will be smashed under her teeth in a very particular « crac crac », but what an active and difficult life for a cat!

She plants her green eyes in yours and stares at you for a long time, stoically to tell you: « I love you my human! « . And you? You melt, a feeling of happiness fills your heart… Then, all of a sudden, still looking at you, she bends her head down and sideways, bends down, and throws herself on the ground showing you her belly so that you can delicately pass your hands on her plump and so soft belly, so soft. And it is the festival: meows, rolls… She expresses her love, her happiness, her attachment, her will to belong to this home which welcomed her already many years ago. And yet, she remains a true savannah fawn: independent, feline to the tips of her nails and so beautiful; she only does what she wants, understands everything and gives everything for love to her humans.
